[Heizou doesn't mind all the contact in the slightest. He's noticed, of course, because he's used to making little mental notes on every little thing around him, but he thinks little of it. There are plenty of reasons for it, after all. Maybe he's tired and needs to lean on his friends. Or maybe he's just happy and that's just one way for him to express that.
It doesn't matter, in the end. Heizou's happy to let Aether into his space, and even gives him a little nudge as he reaches out for a glass of his own. He's not as much of a drinker as Venti is, preferring to only drink when he's in good, safe company, so this night is actually perfect for it. He sips at his drink happily, chuckling a little bit when he sees the way Aether reacts to the taste.]
Well, well... I think he likes it, Venti~!
[He can't help but tease the Traveler a little, turning to Venti with a wink as he takes another sip from his glass.]
[Aren't the both of them just so cute and adorable? Venti can't help but watch the two with a twinkle of affection in his eyes. Heizou, his precious anemo and Aether- Well. He's as close to perfect as they can get. If only he stayed resonated with anemo always.
Venti takes a (big) sip and winks back easily.]
If that little face scrunch has anything to do with it, I might say he might! Ehe.
[He knows alcohol isn't always the easiest thing to try.]
Maybe I should have gotten something just a little sweeter?
[He looks at both his companions. There's redness to his cheeks as his gaze shifts from Venti to Heizou and back. Shortly, there's a pout forming on Aether's face as he presses the glass closer to his chest, almost as if worried that it's going to be taken away from him.]
T-the taste... the taste just surprised me a little!
[He's trying to hide his embarrassment by quickly gulping the entire glass of wine in one go, much like someone would do with a bitter potion. Aether is aware that this is not how wine is supposed to be drunk, but he's hoping it'll be easier to drink once he gets used to the taste (and maybe starts feeling some effects of the alcohol).
It takes everything from him to not scrunch his face again.]
[No one's trying to take his glass from him, so Heizou just looks amused at the way Aether clutches his glass. And unlike his two companions, he's actually taking his time with his drink. He's not on the same level as Venti, but he certainly doesn't feel like he needs to prove himself like Aether does.
So he chuckles a little, giving Aether a light nudge with his elbow.]
No need to drink it all so fast, you know! Take your time. And Venti-
[He turns to the archon and takes on a scolding tone, even though his eyes are still playful and fond. He supposes someone needs to be the responsible one here...]
Maybe don't fill his glass up quite so much this time? Let him get used to it!
[When the blond gulps the whole glass like that Venti almost reaches for his hands to stop him but it's much too late. As much as Venti can chug a glass of wine like it's water he was not expecting Aether to do the same!]
I hadn't meant for him to drink it so fast but I have to say, I'm just a little bit impressed!
[He shakes his head. He comes to the blond's side and slides a hand onto his shoulder gently.]
It's just the three of us tonight, there's no need to rush, hm?
[Drinking that in one swing was not a good idea. Aether barely manages not to cough as the alcohol burns up in his throat. In the end he only looks at his companions sheepishly and sighs.]
Yeah, you two are right...
[He won't be trying to show off anymore.]
How about another one, though? I promise I'll take it easy this time.
[At that sheepish look Heizou just smiles and leans his shoulder into Aether's. He obviously isn't upset or anything. He could never be upset with... well, with either of his current companions, really.
And when the Traveler asks for more... Heizou slides a playful look over at Venti. He can't lie; he's curious to see how long it'll take for Aether to get drunk.]
Another one won't hurt, I suppose! What do you think, Venti~?
Why do I feel like the two of you are enabling me now? [He gives them a suspicious look, before shrugging.] Not that I mind...
[He takes the bottle from Venti, but this time he doesn't drink everything right away. Instead he takes his time, pouring the drink to his glass and slowly sipping from it.
...It definitely doesn't taste as bad as it did the first time. Maybe his strategy paid off?!]
[Heizou gasps in mock offense at the accusation, even raising a hand to clutch at his chest. His eyes betray everything, though. He knows Aether isn't upset about it and Venti is completely on his side, but he loves to tease and play.]
Whaaat! We would never~
[He settles back in once Aether has finished pouring his second glass, sipping at his own with a happy noise. The picture of being at ease in good company.]
I think I may never get used to this kind of cold. But that aside, I've been having a lovely time with you both. I can't imagine a better pair of traveling partners~
[With that, Venti will happily serve himself another glass before he sits on the edge of the bed so he can tug off his hat and loosen his bowtie. He takes another sip of his wine and lets out a happy little sigh.]
The journey has been delightful, as I suspected it would be! And trust me, my dear Heizou. The cold doesn't change all that much but all the more reason for us to travel together, don't you think? Cold nights like this, we're better off together.
[He winks because... They can always cuddle away the cold!]
It's been a while since I've been able to spread my wings like this. Nothing makes me happier.
[Aether can only laugh at the reaction he's getting as he continues to sip on his drink. The glass is emptied quite fast and he fills it yet again, noting the warmth that spreads inside him.]
That's good to hear. This kind of weather can be a bit too much, but like Venti said, together we'll be just fine.
[He grins and leans very close to Heizou, head resting on the other's shoulder.]
[Heizou hasn't even finished his first glass by the time both of his companions are getting into their next ones. Not that he minds at least, just chuckling softly to himself as Venti talks about spending cold nights together and Aether rests his head against his shoulder. His cheeks flush ever so slightly as he gently leans his head into Aether's for a moment. Even while his eyes linger on Venti for just a little bit longer.]
I do like the sound of "together"~
[Because he did not miss that wink, Venti! It's also a little hard to miss the implication behind it when Aether is already quite comfortable settled against his side like this. Heizou can't even blame the wine for putting the image of all three of them snuggled together under the blanket in his head, since he hasn't even finished that first glass.
...He finally looks away from Venti so he can quickly down the rest of his glass, just so he can have something to blame.]
I'm sure the wine is helping you with that, Aether. [He says it with a little chuckle, reaching up to brush some hair out of the traveler's eyes.] How else is it making you feel?
