How should I know if I can trust you?
[The commission he got was supposed to be in an unfamiliar part of Fontaine and Lyney just so offered to play Aether's guide for this trip. The traveler still hadn't figured out if he trusted the magician or not, considering that he was a Fatuus, but at the same time Lyney had done nothing to cause any harm. Aether also aided him with the Phantom Weasel case.
Surely nothing could go wrong?
...Oh, how wrong he was.
It was such a simple commission - pick up some unusual ore and return to the Court of Fontaine, but instead the cave's walls suddenly collapsed, trapping both of them in the darkness. Accidents are normal when adventuring, but Aether can't help the unsettling feeling that creeps on him.]
There has to be another exit.
[He leads the way, gently pulling Lyney along as they walk through the dark tunnel. He's doing his best to act casual about this, not wanting to raise panic and not wanting to suspect that his companion had anything to do with their entrapment. Eventually, they reach some source of light. A camp can be spotted with a fire still lit and Aether's blood almost freezes in his veins when he sees that it's a Fatui camp out of all things.
Could this really be a coincidence?]
