Sometimes I wish I could change the world
[It started in the morning.
The intel he got about the Abyss Order looked promising. Perhaps it could've been another step closer to finding his sister, but when he got to the place he found nothing of value, just a tiring fight against Abyss Mages.
There were so many of them there. It felt like hours before everything was over. Blood dripped down Aether's side as he tried to take a deep breath.
Another empty lead, another fight with no meaning. At times like this it felt like he wasn't getting any closer to his goal at all. Quite the contrary, actually. His sister was getting further and further away from him, taken by the Abyss, becoming someone who he didn't recognize.
Aether decided to slowly head back to the city of Inazuma and report to the guild that the threat had been dealt with. The path seemed so much longer than usually and the sky was getting cloudy and unfriendly. Despite that, the traveler never stopped moving - even though his side hurt and bled, even though he was tired, even though the rain was about to pour down any moment now.
Suddenly his head started spinning, ringing in his ears, then he lost his balance. With a dull noise he hit the cold ground, conscious only enough to mourn the fact that he can't force his limbs to move. A moment later his world went black.
The first drops of rain fell from the sky, before more of them followed, washing the blood from the wound pooling by the boy's side.
He was so close to the Kamisato residence, but he never noticed.]
